Why It Matters

For families experiencing homelessness, every dollar matters. While a food box may seem simple However

Many of the families CASS serves are working hard to save money for application fees, security deposits, transportation, and other expenses required to move into a home. When nutritious food is available through donated pantry boxes, families can stretch their limited income further and focus on reaching that goal.

Recent changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) have also affected many households. New eligibility requirements have caused some families to lose benefits or receive less assistance, making it even more difficult to afford groceries while working toward long-term stability.

By filling a food box, you're doing more than providing meals—you are easing financial pressure, helping families preserve their limited resources, and giving them a better opportunity to save for permanent housing. Every donated box is a tangible step toward stability, dignity, and hope.
