In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Phoenix has partnered with CASS to address the increase of homelessness due to the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically to provide care for the elderly and other vulnerable populations.
We have the opportunity to build a better future for people and to approach solutions to homelessness in new ways; and, to create a future that is inspired by partnership and innovation.
Amidst the chaos, we are discovering how much farther we can go together.
It has been more than 100 years since our world has experienced a pandemic of the magnitude of the Covid-19 virus. As we rapidly adapt to this new reality, we are praying for our health care workers, our police, firefighters, and other front line workers, including those working with people experiencing homelessness.
While we do have a thorough sanitation and prevention plan already in place year-round, CASS has ramped up our prevention efforts in many ways in response to Covid-19 based on recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
